MAYBELLINE'S THE ROCKET

I’m a little late on the bandwagon on this one, but I finally gave in and bought a Maybelline mascara that has been making its rounds in the beauty world. This is quite a big step for me as for the last 5 years or so, the only mascaras I have been using have been from Boots’ No. 7 range. I think they lured me in with regular new mascaras and money off vouchers, but after finding 11 different used up No. 7 mascara bottles when clearing out my old room at my parents’ house, I realised how long the love affair had been going on.

It was a pleasant surprise to find out that it was only £7.99 compared to the common £11 price tag I am used to with No. 7. I was also surprised when I noticed that it’s not waterproof as I found it quite difficult to remove with soap and water, but actually very easy with a make up pad. Two thumbs up for this, as waterproof mascara tends to annihilate my lashes when I try to take it off. I would describe this mascara as one to go to for ‘party lashes’ as it creates quite an intense volume, especially if you let it dry between coats. The photo above is the result of just one coat, so imagine the power of two! I reckon it will nicely take the place of my everyday mascara, so long as I’m sensible with the helpings! What do you think to The Rocket?
