BOOTS NO 7 HIGH SHINE LIP CRAYON - £9
All aboard the crayon train. Pretty much
every brand has their take on them and they are quickly becoming the must have
of the summer for make up lovers. Lip crayons and chubby sticks seem to be
everywhere I look for some reason, so, being a huge No 7 fan girl, I wanted to
try their take on them.
Most of the reviews I’ve seen on these have
been of the Bourjois Colour Boost crayons, which by the sound of it are
probably the most popular. Having tried all four shades, I was pretty excited
to try out Boots’ offerings. What I like about the No 7 crayons in comparison
to other brands is not just the wide spectrum of colours, but the shades aren’t
as harsh on the lips as some other brands and the high shine aspect means you don’t
need to wear a gloss over the top. I picked out this berry colour ‘Delicate
Pink’ (which for some reason is orange on the website). It was such a hassle to
buy in my nearest Boots store as this colour was always sold out when I went
in! But after a full days wear I can see why. The colour is a soft pinky/purple
and the colour of the stick is very well represented on the lips. The colour
lasted about 7 hours comfortably until I started to notice that maybe I needed
a top up, which I think is quite a long time. Even after eating and drinking,
my lips still felt soft as the stick locks in quite a lot of moisture and isn’t
as drying as a lip stick.
My favourite thing about lip crayons is they’re lightweight, not sticky and you can easily re-apply them during the day. At £9 each, these are slightly more expensive than other drug store lip crayons, but in my experience, they have a better finish than some of the other ones I’ve tried. Do you think the crayon trend will continue into Winter?
