A FEW LUSH TREATS

TOO DRUNK SHOWER BOMB - £2.30

This week has not exactly been a cakewalk for me. I’ve been so busy working and organising events that when I get home later than usual, I haven’t had much time for myself. So what better place to visit when you’re in need of pampering than the most gorgeous smelling shop on the planet? I popped into Lush on my lunch break today and picked up a couple of goodies that will have me sailing back to relaxation in no time!

I dived straight in to the bath section and immediately picked out the Yuzu and Cocoa bubble bar as it just looked and smelt so appealing – it’s like a little orange snowman! Scented with grapefruit, coconut oil and shea butter (three of my favourites) I figured I am pretty much onto a winner.

My second treat was a Pop in the Bath bubble bar, a mixture of bergamot and orange flower. After I heard that it contains the same blend of oils that The Olive Branch uses, I was curious to try it as I love how waxy and fresh The Olive Branch made my skin feel.

The selection of massage bars are something I have wanted to try out for ages, but as massaging would indicate a two person sport, I wanted to get one that wasn’t shimmery and didn’t smell too girly so my boyfriend could use it too. Each Peach was the perfect compromise – Not too sickly sweet, no sparkles and feels very warming when it’s rubbed in. 10 out of 10!

My last item isn’t from my purchases, but more something that I found in the back of my drawer. I was lucky enough to get my hands on Too Drunk just before they discontinued it. It was meant as a shower bomb that you put under the water and it releases awakening scents to ease your hungover state from one too many drinks the night before. Unfortunately, it didn’t have very good reviews from Lush fans as it was considered too weak for a hangover, and thus was taken off the shelves. I personally rather enjoyed the novelty of having a hangover cushion ready for the morning after. It was never advertised to actually get rid of your hangover and I think that is where a lot of people failed to see the joy in it. Fragranced with sweet orange and peppermint, it’s a lovely bomb to crumble under the shower when you’re feeling a bit worse for wear. Have you tried any of the products mentioned? If so, what do you think of them?
